Three global approaches on the French National Road Network
On the French National road Network, three global approaches for improving the safety of road infrastructure are implemented :
- for road projects, the CSPR approach (Road Project Safety Monitoring) is present during all the process, fixing audits at each stage of the project, from the start stage, during the design stage, to the exploitation stage. Its goal is to provide a high quality road.
- for existing roads, which are the main stake, the SURE approach (User Safety on Existing Roads) detects the sections where the accident rate is the highest and propose actions to improve the quality of the road.
- the ISRI approach (Road Safety Inspections) is implemented on the whole national road network, including private motorways, independently to the accidents location.
